According to Carl Marx guy produces inanimate objects so as to feel fulfilled. Man produces not by need but chooses to create as a way of self-expression. In Marxs theory of estranged labor he stresses the impression that the capitalist function of production has after the subsistence worker. The effect being that through the present day organization of labor person becomes separated through the present day business of labor, he turns into alienated from his all natural self. An individual believes that the merchandise consumed reflect their personality. We see will be selves as what we own personal.

The industrial revolution caused Americans drive to get more through expansion. Growth comes through production. Prior to the industrial revolution, the more component was still present. Persons wanted more then what they currently owned. Americans believed there is opportunity to do whichever they wanted. People in america lived with the frontier mentality that there is always more to acquire. This mentality will not hold true in contemporary industrialized society. Most persons do not really make everything they have.
